Admission Process & Eligibility

The admission process at KIIT is completely transparent, merit-driven, and centralized through its online admission portal. The university conducts its own free-of-cost entrance examination, KIITEE.

1. Step 1: Application: Candidates apply online for KIITEE on the official university website. There is no application/examination fee for KIITEE. Medical applicants must apply through the central MCC NEET portal.
2. Step 2: Entrance Examination: Candidates download their admit cards and appear for the computer-based KIITEE at designated test centers across the country.
3. Step 3: Result & Merit List: KIIT publishes course-wise merit lists based on entrance performance. Separate lists are published for SC/ST and physically challenged categories.
4. Step 4: Counselling & Seat Allotment: Shortlisted candidates are called for online or physical counseling. Seat allotment depends on rank, branch preference, and document verification. Admission is confirmed upon payment of the first-semester fee.

• B.Tech: Pass 10+2 with at least 60% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
• MBA: A recognized Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
• MBBS/BDS: 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) securing at least 50% marks + Valid NEET UG score.
• BCA/BBA/B.Com/Law: 10+2 in any stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.

Scholarship Programs & Details

• KIITEE Merit Scholarship: Offers free education to the topper of the KIITEE entrance examination and provides additional scholarships to the top 1000 rank holders who secure at least 60% in their board examinations.
• KIIT Merit Scholarship: Awarded to the university toppers of each semester across different schools, providing a monthly stipend ranging from INR 5,000 to INR 10,000.
• Tuition Fee Waiver (TFW) Scheme: Aimed at supporting economically disadvantaged students; available for BPL card holders, covering up to 5% of the total B.Tech student intake.
• KIITEE Management Scholarship: Provides a 50% tuition fee waiver to the top 5 rank holders of the KIITEE Management Entrance Test.

KIIT University does not officially release fixed numerical cutoff marks for all its engineering and professional courses. Instead, selection is primarily based on inter-se merit generated from the KIITEE (KIIT Entrance Examination).

• MBA Cutoff Trends: General Management accepts national scores around the 80th Percentile (MAT/CMAT/CAT/XAT). Agribusiness Management often sees relaxed cutoffs around the 25th Percentile (CAT).
• MBBS (NEET UG): The closing rank for the General Category (AI Quota) has previously ranged between 96,355 and 273,827 depending on the counselling round.
