Admission Process & Eligibility

JGU employs a comprehensive admission process that evaluates a candidate’s potential beyond mere test scores. The university’s "Office of Admissions" manages the cycle through a dedicated online portal.

1. Application: Submit the online application form (INR 1,500 – 3,000 fee) along with a personal statement and supplemental questions.
2. Entrance: Appear for the mandated entrance exam (LSAT-India, JSAT, CAT, etc.) as per the course choice.
3. Counselling/Interview: Shortlisted candidates for many programs (like B.Com Hons. and MBA) must attend a faculty-led personal interview.
4. Final Selection: Admission is offered based on a composite score of entrance results, 10th and 12th marks, and interview performance.

• Undergraduate: 10+2 with a minimum of 45% (Law) to 60% (BBA/B.Com) aggregate marks.
• Postgraduate: Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 50-55% aggregate marks.
• Doctoral: Master’s degree with 55% marks plus performance in the university research test and interview.

Cutoff & Admission Trends

Admissions at JGU are selective, relying on a holistic review of entrance scores, academic records, and personal statements. As of 2026, the university has seen a tightening of cutoffs for its flagship Law and Business programs. While the university accepts a wide array of national exams, the LSAT-India remains the primary benchmark for legal studies, while the JSAT (Jindal Scholastic Aptitude Test) serves as the primary gateway for other undergraduate disciplines.
