The Bachelor of Science (Psychology) explores how the human mind and behavior work. It provides a strong foundation in key areas of psychology, including:

  • Developmental Psychology – how people grow and change throughout life.
  • Social Psychology – how individuals interact with others and society.
  • Personality Psychology – understanding individual differences in behavior and traits.
  • Health and Mental Health Psychology – factors affecting wellbeing and mental health.
  • Cognition – how people think, learn, remember, and solve problems.
  • Biological Bases of Behaviour – how the brain and nervous system influence behavior.
  • Research Methods – learning how psychological studies are designed and conducted.

In later years, students can specialize in areas such as neuroscience, counselling, health psychology, mental health, and organisational (business) psychology.

After completing the third year, eligible students can apply for an Honours year, which is the pathway to postgraduate studies and professional training in psychology. Further study can lead to careers as a psychologist, clinical psychologist, counsellor, researcher, human resources specialist, mental health practitioner, or organizational consultant.

Duration: Typically 3 years full-time (plus 1 year Honours for advanced study).
