The Diploma of Languages at ANU is designed for students who want to develop strong language skills alongside their main degree.

???? Choose from many languages, including some that are rarely offered at Australian universities.
???? You can study one language in depth (8 courses) or combine two languages / language-related subjects (usually 4 + 4 courses).
???? It can be studied concurrently with another ANU degree, such as a Bachelor of Arts, Business, Science, etc.
? Most students complete it part-time over 3–4 years alongside their main degree.
????? If you already know a language, you may be able to start at a more advanced level.
???? Important: Beginner language courses are generally available only to students starting in Semester 1. Semester 2 entrants may need a placement test and suitable courses aren't guaranteed.

In simple terms: It is an additional qualification that lets you graduate with your main ANU degree plus substantial language and cultural knowledge, which can be useful for international careers, diplomacy, business, education, research and communication.
