Originally founded as a distance learning and professional management provider, it transitioned in 2009 into a dedicated professional accounting membership body. Registered in South Africa as a non-profit company, the Institute holds significant legal standing, acting as a provider of Accounting Officers and a Recognised Controlling Body with SARS for Tax Practitioners.
