Fees

XLRI Jamshedpur's fee structure reflects its world-class infrastructure and top-tier global faculty network. Beyond tuition, students should account for miscellaneous costs such as a 20,000 refundable caution deposit and residential charges estimated between 2 Lakhs and 2.2 Lakhs per year.

Admission Process & Eligibility

XLRI follows a stringent, multi-stage selection process designed to evaluate a candidate’s cognitive abilities, leadership potential, and holistic personality.

1. Step 1: Application & XAT Registration: Candidates must register for the XAT exam (typically held in early January) and select their preferred XLRI programs (BM, HRM, GM, etc.) during registration.
2. Step 2: Shortlisting: After XAT results are declared, XLRI publishes category-wise, gender-wise, and academic-stream-wise cutoffs. Candidates meeting these thresholds are shortlisted for the interview rounds.
3. Step 3: Personal Assessment Rounds: Shortlisted candidates participate in a series of evaluations held across major cities in February and March. This includes:
   • Analytical Essay Writing (AEW): Testing clarity of thought and written expression.
   • Group Discussion (GD): Evaluating team dynamics and communication skills (primarily for HRM).
   • Personal Interview (PI): Deep diving into the candidate's academic background, work experience, and cultural fit.
4. Step 4: Final Selection: The final merit list is computed based on a weighted composite score:
   • XAT Score: 60% Weightage
   • GD/PI Performance: 25% Weightage
   • Profile (Essay, Academics, Work Ex, GK): 15% Weightage

Eligibility Requirements:

• PGDM (BM & HRM): A recognized minimum 3-year Bachelor's degree with at least 50% marks (45% for reserved categories). Final year students may also apply.
• PGDM (General Management): A recognized degree with a minimum of 5 years of post-graduation managerial work experience.

Scholarship Programs & Details

XLRI is dedicated to ensuring that financial constraints do not hinder deserving students from pursuing excellence, offering diverse merit-based and need-based awards.

• Aditya Birla Scholarship: Awarded to one student in the BM or HRM first-year programs based on merit (₹1,75,000).
• IDFC First Bank Scholarship: Provides ₹1,00,000 to eight candidates in the BM Jamshedpur (BMJ) program based on merit-cum-need.
• Mirae Asset Foundation Scholarship: Available to three students each in the first and second years of BMJ, HRM, and BMD programs (₹5,00,000 for year one; ₹1,75,000 for year two).
• OP Jindal Engineering & Management: A merit-based award granted to one student in BMJ, HRM, or BMD providing ₹1,50,000.
• T Thomas Scholarship: Offered by Hindustan Unilever to one first-year student (₹1,00,000).
• Joseph M Sciortino [for ST Students]: Funded by the Corpus Fund, this award provides ₹25,000 distributed equally among eligible Scheduled Tribe applicants.
• Kalyan Ganguly XEF Scholarship: A merit-cum-need scholarship providing ₹1,00,000.
• XLRI Diamond Jubilee Scholarship: Covers full tuition fees for two first-year students and two second-year students.
• Revolut Ira Scholarship: A merit-based award specifically for one female student in her first year, providing ₹5,00,000.

XLRI uses the Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) as the primary gateway for its flagship programs. The cutoffs are meticulously structured to recognize diverse educational backgrounds and promote gender inclusivity in business leadership.
