Admission Process & Eligibility
XLRI follows a stringent, multi-stage selection process designed to evaluate a candidate’s cognitive abilities, leadership potential, and holistic personality.
- Step 1: Application & XAT Registration: Candidates must register for the XAT exam (typically held in early January) and select their preferred XLRI programs (BM, HRM, GM, etc.) during registration.
- Step 2: Shortlisting: After XAT results are declared, XLRI publishes category-wise, gender-wise, and academic-stream-wise cutoffs. Candidates meeting these thresholds are shortlisted for the interview rounds.

- Analytical Essay Writing (AEW): Testing clarity of thought and written expression.
- Group Discussion (GD): Evaluating team dynamics and communication skills (primarily for HRM).
- Personal Interview (PI): Deep diving into the candidate's academic background, work experience, and cultural fit.
- Step 4: Final Selection: The final merit list is computed based on a weighted composite score:

- GD/PI Performance: 25% Weightage
- Profile (Essay, Academics, Work Ex, GK): 15% Weightage
